I loved how in depth and detail this book went in to the world of palmistry, & how easy it is to use. I also own the zodiac, fortune telling, dream symbol, & magic & spell book to this collection as well. i love them all and would recommend if you want to understand more & get your feet wet in alot of different areas

This book is very informative. It takes some time to read and learn but is worth your time and money. I have been reading palms for over a year now and this book is the main book I read to learn the art. I love the book and I hope you'll like it too.

The Best Yet

I have read a lot of money books, and this one has nothing new to say, as the author clearly states in the beginning of the book. HOWEVER, I have never read a book that presents the five lessons in such a simple, easy to understand, way.

The author does not ramble on with story upon story of people who got rich like some of its neighboring books in this genre, instead he uses just enough stories to illustrate the lessons and the key points of the book.

My favorite thing about the book is that it is ethical. In these last few years we have seen some of the richest men in America put into prison because of their greed and waste. Because books like these are finding their ways into the hands of down to earth people, the rich population of America is becoming less greedy and more charitable.

Another wonderful thing about the book is its length. Although I like The Millionare Next Door, and I do recommend it, it is longer and more cumbersom to read if you are not used to this genre. The Five Lessons is very short, I read it all last night in four or five hours.

The author has his prioroties straight, he says, very plainly, that life is not about money, but that it is about God and family. He states that money does not equal joy, but that it can help you to be able to help others and to improve the world around you.

The book does ask you to contemplate your character, how you would handle wealth and the power that comes with it. It is both logical and reflective.

The only thing people might not like about the book is that it is so shockingly simple that they might not apply it.

You might remember the story of Elisha the prophet, from the Bible, who told the sick king to wash in the Jordan River in order to be healed. At first the king was furious that he was given such a simple solution but eventually did wash in the river, as he was instructed, and was completely healed.

This book is just like that, it is a simple answer, but if applied, it will work.

Pssss...don't tell my mom!

I really liked this book. But if asked by my mom, I'll deny reading it. Pretty much I just wanted to put in the 5 stars. I'm fifteen and it made a lot of sense to me. Which is saying a lot because usually I just want to spend money on movies and Abrecrombie clothes. But I do have bigger dreams than clothes that look awesome on me. And this book helped me understand why saving the money I earn will help me in really big ways later, like being independent and not needing to ask my mom and dad for money. Here's to moving out!

At first I was skeptical but then I was in awe

When I first saw this book I thought to myself what is Richard Paul Evans doing writing a book about money. But I picked it up and decided I would give it a try and wow, it was great! The lessons are straight forward, easy to understand and something everyone needs to read. Even if you think you know everything there is to know about money you will learn something new. The best part about the book is the seven golden words. Those simple words have saved me thousands of dollars. I have given this book to all my children and I highly recommend it!!

About the Author
Born, 1919 and educated at Brockenhurst School and Christ Church College, Oxford, where he gained his D.Litt. Fellow of All Souls College and of New College, and in 1967-68 was Oxford University Professor of the History of Latin America. From 1968-87 he was Warden of St Anthony's College, Oxford. He has also taught at Boston University, and is an Honorary Fellow of Exeter University. The recipient of decorations from the Spanish and Portuguese governments, he was knighted in 1987.

About the Author
Jeremy McCarter wrote cultural criticism for New York magazine and Newsweek before spending five years on the artistic staff of the Public Theater, where he created, directed, and produced the Public Forum series. He served on the jury of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and is writing a book about young American radicals during World War One. He lives in Chicago.

Lin-Manuel Miranda (Book, Music, and Lyrics/Alexander Hamilton) is the Tony and Grammy award-winning composer-lyricist-star of Broadway's In the Heights--winner of four 2008 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Orchestrations, and Best Choreography with Miranda receiving the award for Best Score. Additionally, he is the co-composer and co-lyricist of Broadway's Tony-nominated Bring It On: The Musical and provided Spanish translations for the 2009 Broadway revival of West Side Story. Miranda, along with Tom Kitt, won the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy for Best Original Music and Lyrics for their work on the 67th Annual Tony Awards. In 2015, Miranda was named as a Fellow of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He lives with his family in New York City.

How lucky we are to be alive right now

Let's just accept it...when Lin-Manuel Miranda does something, he does it right, all the way, and maybe better than anyone else.

I'm fortunate enough to have seen "Hamilton" twice. I've read the Chernow biography, listened to the cast recording non-stop (ha) since September, and been an avid follower of Lin's tweets, Facebook posts, interviews, #Ham4Ham shows, and Genius annotations. I've been a musical theatre geek for five decades and have never felt this excitement about any show (with the possible exception of A Chorus Line). So when I heard months ago that Lin and former New York magazine drama critic Jeremy McCarter were putting together a book about the creation of "Hamilton," I pre-ordered my copy and started counting the days. Now it's here, and.... wow. Just wow.

Given the show's deserved status as a cultural phenomenon that will be playing to sold-out houses for years, it would have been easy to just throw together a "behind-the-scenes" book with a few interviews, toss in some publicity stills, and have a guaranteed best-seller. This "Hamiltome" couldn't be further from that. Among other delights, it includes: the full libretto of this sung-through (and rapped-through) show, with extensive annotations from LMM that give new insights, meaning, and historical context to the words that you might already know by heart; more than 30 essays about the cast members, the production team, the creative process, and the facts of Hamilton's life; copies of relevant historical documents referenced in the show; pages from LMM's notebooks with early drafts and outlines; and a stunningly beautiful array of production photographs, cast portraits, and backstage candids. And all of this is thoughtfully organized and packaged in a beautifully bound volume with ivory deckle-edged paper - a book like books used to be. (Trust me, this is one book you don't want to read on Kindle; it's actually a sensory experience to hold it and turn the pages.)

As McCarter notes in the Introduction, the title "Hamilton - The Revolution" has two meanings. There is the American Revolution that is brought to life in this show, and there is the revolution of the show itself - "a musical that changes the way that Broadway sounds, that alters who gets to tell the story of our founding, that lets us glimpse the new, more diverse America rushing our way." Do what you can to see "Hamilton," either on Broadway or when it comes to your town. It's unlike anything else. Until then, this book and the original cast recording will get you as close as possible to an orchestra seat at the Richard Rodgers Theatre.

A stunning creation, but I knew that before I even saw it...

This book is a thing of beauty! I ordered it early and it - literally - just arrived at my front door. Giddy with excitement, I pulled back the packaging tab and inside was this glorious tome. The design is exquisite, the words flow as beautifully as the pictures from page to page: lyrics, insights and anecdotes galore - nothing has been overlooked. To be truthful, I came back to Amazon to order another as a gift, but there don't seem to be any available. So glad I ordered early! Looking forward to enveloping myself in this Hamilton word and pictures story, that is until I actually get to see the show... A girl can dream :-)

Edited to add: and the dream is almost a reality... Used this gorgeous book to deliver surprise tickets to my niece who turned 18 today. I'm in New York and tonight's the night! AND, Miranda wins the Pulitzer on the same day. It's been a bit of a day!!!

Great Book

This is a very good book. The authors focus very well on the audience they are trying to commuinicate with and they have plenty of well thought out examples. The book is easy to read and has a nice selection of topics. This would make a good textbook or a nice reference. The book does lack much of the mathematical development, but that really isn't the driving force for the text. If you are interested in just the how to's and not really the why then this is a great book for you.

Que decir, ha sido una historia fresca y r�pida de leer. Los caracteres de los personajes estan muy marcados y Britt es un amor, no es la t�pica mujer v�ctima que necesita de que la socorran; necesita protecci�n como cualquiera pero tambi� sabe proteger y sabe afrontar las cosas solas, sumado a su fuerte car�cter explosivo.
Natthan por su parte es un hombre un tanto rudo, debido a las profesiones en las que ha trabajado, m�s de una vez me dieron ganas de matarlo! Es muy cabez�n.
La uni�n que tiene con su familia es preciosa, me encant�. Una historia que habla de la familia, de la lealtad hacia ella; saber apreciar las oportunidades que te da la vida y sobre todo... de que lo que tiene que ser ser� m�s tarde o m�s temprano.
El amor en la historia es perfecto, no es de esos muy empalagosos, es apasionado y fresco en muchos sentido.
La recomiendo!

Una novela f�cil de leer para cualquier tipo de p�blico, llena de personajes entra�ables y con una narraci�n suave que te introduce en la historia sin darte cuenta, hasta que no puedes dejar de leer. Llena de sensualidad, humor y valores humanos.

Es una historia que me ha cautivado y desde luego si esta es su primera novela, las dem�s estoy seguro de que nos dejaran con la boca abierta. Otra cosa que me llam� la atenci�n es que no s�lo se centra en el papel de la mujer, sino que adem�s el hombre es muy bien detallado desde su forma de ser hasta sus sentimientos, algo que la mayor�a de las autoras no se preocupan por describir y provoca que los hombres no nos sintamos atra�dos con la novela rom�ntica ya que todo gira siempre entorno a la mujer y no podemos sentirnos identificados.

Douglas is a Senior Lecturer in Surgical Science and Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Douglas graduated from Cardiff Dental Hospital and completed various hospital and practice jobs. He then spent four years working as a part-time lecturer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery whilst completing his medicine degree at University College London. His junior medical jobs were completed at Southampton, and specialist training in the West Midlands. Barry F. A. Quinn BDS, MSc, LDSRCS (Eng), MRDRCS (Ed), FDSRCPS(Glas), FFDRCS (Irel), FHEA. Barry is a Senior Specialist Clinical Teacher / Honorary Consultant at the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Integrated Clinical Care, King's College London Dental Institute. Richard Moore BDS, MFDSRCPS (Glasg), MAcadMed, FRSPH, AIFL. Richard has worked exclusively in oral and maxillofacial surgery since graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2002. He has delivered and designed teaching programmes for post graduate dentists in junior hospital posts in oral and maxillofacial surgery across the UK. He has also been involved in Residency programmes in Canada. Excellent book combines music, math, and programming

After about a ten year hiatus on books of this type being published, this is one of several new books combining mathematics, music, and programming aimed at musicians who want to know more about the math behind their musical compositions and are not content to just know what drop-down windows to click on using the latest musical software. The book starts with the basics of music and sound and works up to basic music theory, physics and sound, and acoustics and psychoacoustics. The final chapter of the book is the most interesting, since it concerns mathematics and composition techniques using the author's C++ based library "Musimat". Both this book and Musimat have companion websites, although the Musimat site is the most interesting with plenty of downloads in case you are interested in how to use this compositional library. There is a volume two scheduled for release in Spring 2007 that gets into signal processing, the role of digital signals, and the wave equation, so together they are a very complete treatise on math, music, and programming aimed at the musical composer. I highly recommend it. Of course, if you want to dig deep into individual subjects such as acoustics and psychoacoustics, you are going to need additional references. Extraordinary Beyond the Title, a must for all Math Lovers

The sad thing about this series is that the keywords that invite readers to stop by, hide the fact that these texts go far beyond music, to USE music as a gentle introduction to extremely complex, relevant and timely math concepts. The best teachers use four paths to explain a math concept: verbal, formulaic, algorithmic and pictographic. These help the brain comprehend the topic regardless of our learning modality. The authors here are simply MASTERFUL math teachers, and clarify everything from Eulers Law (relation of e, the base of the natural logarithms to pi, the base of the trig functions) to Fourier Transforms, in a way that a bright High School student will get. If you've been out of math (any math) for a long time, and want a masterful review of math concepts and techniques, this series is THE place to start. You can then extend that foundation to many other applied areas, from signal processing to physics, voice recognition, etc. Fourier transforms (and their more recent spin off in Cepstrums) are being used in too many fields to list today, from radar and electronic engineering, to whale songs.

In every section, the author's excitement is contagious. Rather than give a bunch of dry proofs that reek of hubris and disregard for the reader, Gareth uses a "curious mind" tone, as if he were just learning and discovering this too, like a kind of puzzle or murder mystery. Loy is Monk, Holmes and Columbo combined. For example, he gives a few expansion series for e, then says: "Wow, there seems to be a striking and beautiful pattern here, doesn't there? Wonder what it can be?" Leave it to a guy into both math and music to see the wonder in a time series!

One more example. Any texts on waveforms have to involve deep calculus, especially PDE's. Unfortunately, deep PDE's don't happen until grad school. But, rather than assume the reader uses calculus all day long, Loy starts with the basics at "now let's see how the first derivative is actually slope finding and integration is the area covered by the moving curve..." including those perhaps more musically inclined who have forgotten what a derivative is. Astonishingly, Loy sneaks around the dry topic of limits to use MUSIC as a great practical refesher on calculus (p. 263 of the second volume, in the section that is the hottest topic in Physics today, from Astronomy to Medical Imaging to of course music: Resonance).

Gareth is one of the few mathematicians around who can relate math to the astonishment of life around us. After all, our brain is doing advanced Fourier Transforms every time we cross a street in traffic, and when we get an MRI, the Fourier Transforms that convert magnetic alignment to pictures are assuming that the atoms in our body are a song, which when pulsed with a radio wave, will sing the positions of their water molecules back to us in harmonics that can be seen as well as heard.

Highly recommend this series, not only for everyone interested in math and music, but math and life!
