La Lira y La Espada, de David Mandel es un excelente libro, emocionante en su trama y educativo en su lectura. Obligada lectura para quienes estan interesados en conocer mejor acontecimientos b�blicos o en novelas de ficci�n hist�rica.
Mandel nos presenta la biograf�a novelada del b�blico rey David de una manera, interesante, fluida y muy original. Describe con talento al entorno y a los m�ltiples personajes del relato b�blico, manteniendo permanentemente el inter�s del lector en la trama.
Gran lectura para grandes y chicos.

Todos hemos le�do la Biblia, de ni�os o adolescentes. El t�pico relato b�blico est� escrito como una ense�anza, en forma educativa, con preceptos para obedecer. Nunca pens� que podr�a leer una historia b�blica llena de suspensos, emociones, celos, ansiedad por saber que pasa en la pr�xima p�gina, sin poder parar la lectura de `La Lira y la Espada'. David Mandel nos presenta un rey David de carne y hueso, en un marco de aventuras, intrigas, alianzas y traiciones, amores y odios, que relata como un ni�o pastor de ovejas llego a ser rey de un gran imperio. La Lira y la Espada, un libro lleno de emociones y suspenso, es una lectura apasionante que ser� disfrutada por lectores de todas las edades.

La lira y la espada

La novela historica, como genero, permite trasmitir "el sabor" de los hechos sin la rigidez que se espera del historiador formal. Esto es lo que David Mandel logra en "La lira y la espada". El rey David aparece como un personaje mucho menos idealizado del que presenta la Biblia, con capacidad de cometer actos de increible crueldad, pero tal vez por eso mismo, mas humano y comprensible. Inevitablemente el autor "contagia" su vision personal del personaje, pero para quienes no pretendemos ser eruditos, este libro representa una ventana hacia un mundo fascinante del que poco sabemos. Definitivamente, vale la pena!
